KZ1000 Sissy bar

I went to Holly Hill today to finish up the remaining work on my sissy bar. It was hot as Hades outside, but we were determined to build something cool. Raz started by making a bracket to hold the front of the fender. After we secured the fender to the bike the real fun started.

I am very pleased with the way the fender, and sissy bar turned out. It was a very long day in the heat with those damned gnats bugging the hell out of us, but the the end result was definitely worth it.

Bike night at The Shovelhead Lounge

This was the first time that we set up at Boston Mike's Bike Night at the Shovelhead Lounge in Longwood Florida. We were very lucky that the weather held out for us, there were reports of every surrounding area being drenched with rainstorms, but mother nature saw it fit to shine on our get together. There was plenty of fun to be had by all, Bikes and Beauties showed up to do their Model search, and and the lovely Jagermeister girls were there passing out shots of straight intoxication. There was also a ride in Bike show, I was surprised to see an impressive turn out of older bikes. We were excited that Raz walked away with the Shovelhead of the night award. You should make sure that you catch these bike nights because they are a helluva time! We thank everyone who came out to show their support. A very special thanks to Boston Mike, and the crew for having us. We look forward to next month! Don't forget EVERY 3rd Thursday at The Shovelhead Lounge in Longwood.

KZ1000 progress with Raz

I took my fender to Raz's house so he could use his plasma cutter to cut the radius so it actually followed the shape of the wheel. We will also be making a stainless steel sissybar. Here is the progress we have made so far.

If you ever need any Welding,or Fabrication call him up.

KZ1000 progress

I had recently fitted a front end off of a 95 Suzuki 800 intruder, and made a set of 1 piece bars. The only thing left was to tear the frame down for modification and paint.
I cut the fender struts off so we could make a sissybar that is a little bit more structurally sound.
I decided to use a fender off of a wrecked Harley Road Glide for my new rear fender. I wasn't sure how it would look, but after I cut it up I was really happy with the result
After I had cut and sectioned the fender I took it to my buddy Raz's house for him to cut the radius with his plasma cutter and, make my sissy bar, but that is a another post in itself.

Hot Wheels Flame Helmet

This helmet I painted this past Wednesday to display some of my paint work at the Shovelhead Lounge bike night sponsored by Boston Mike's Custom Bikes. I am not sure of why the sudden inspiration to do old school flames, but it was a refreshing break away from the "usual" things I have been doing lately. The pinstripe work was done by an extremely talented artist, Pinstripin' Mikey. If you need any stripe work or lettering he is the man to call!

4th of July

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July. I know I did, and I hope you enjoy my Rave dance for Amerrrica!

Final day of the smokeout

Saturday we started out with a tasty breakfast at Holiday Restaurant. This was obviously a local favorite, the service was great and the people were very friendly. If you are ever in Rockingham I suggest you try this place out. We met some interesting people on our way out with some pretty crazy bikes. We also got to see this rad 71 Superglide which was one of the highlights of my trip. I have no idea why people thought this bike was ugly. Whats not to like about it?
We then ventured into town for supplies, the air was light and the temperature was perfect for a morning ride. We met this hobo in the Wal Mart parking lot who was singing his heart out into a microphone that didn't work and, playing guitar on an amp that wasn't plugged in. Don't quit your day job dude.
We took our supplies back to camp and ventured out on a ride on some twisty back roads through some nearby towns, It was great to get into some good terrain to ride other than Florida's flat lands and straight roads.

After our ride we came back to the Ant Pile to cook up some grub and head into the event for bikes, beer ,and music.
We went inside for The Kings of Hell, Those guys always put on a great show! The booze was flowing, we started getting pretty rowdy.
After The Kings of Hell everyone kind of went off in their own direction. We went back to grab more beer from the Ant Pile, and had to hop the fence to get back in. Brent and I met up with Chris, and we found our way back outside in search for mini bike races, which we never found. We did however find the burnout pit.

After the burnout pit we made our way back inside to the vendor area where we hung out with Boston Mike and the Led Sled bunch for a while. After that it gets a little bit blurry.
When we set out on our journey I really did not know what to expect. A lot of people told me that the Smokeout sucked and it was not worth the trip.I will say this,it is what you make of it. I went in expecting to have a great time and I did. I saw a lot of really rad bikes that inspired the hell out of me, and just had an overall good time. I think the thing I enjoyed the most was the journey, the ride was spectacular and the people we rode with were even better. To everyone we hung out with, and to everyone we met I had a great time, and I hope to see you again next year!
